ETHS and five other Knoxville museums have partnered with Knox County's Beaumont School and Magnet Honors Academy to provide curriculum-based and interactive museum programming to every student during 2007-2008 school year.
Every student from
Knox
County Schools'
Beaumont
School and
Magnet
Honors
Academy , from kindergarten through fifth grade, will visit the
ETHS
Museum this school year. They will also visit the Knoxville Zoo, Ramsey House Plantation, the
Frank
H.
McClung
Museum and Knoxville Museum of Art as a part of the new Beaumont-Museum Partnership program. By Christmas,
Beaumont kindergarteners and fifth graders will have visited the museum once and the fourth graders twice.
Beaumont ’s teachers have had great things to say about the ETHS museum and programs:
"The students had lots of questions about the wagon and log cabin being built in the museum. It was fun and required a lot of thinking on their part."
"We loved the supply and demand lesson. It really called for higher order thinking skills for the kids to process the differences."
