The East Tennessee Historical Society offers a variety of resources for teachers. They include lesson plans as well as links to helpful information. We also offer wonderful children's titles through the ETHS museum shop.

NEW! Industrialization Lesson Plans

Click here to dowload the newest volume of Teaching Tennessee History: Lesson Plans for the Classroom Volume III. The theme for this volume is "Voices of Opportunity: Industrialization Comes to Tennessee." The book is composed of lesson plans submitted by participants of the 2007 Teachers History Institute by the same name.

Tennessee Presidents Lesson Plans
These plans were developed by participants of the 2005 Teachers History Institute "From Tennessee to the White House: The Journeys of Jackson, Polk, and Johnson." Each participating teacher was required to develop, pilot, and submit a lesson plan as part of their commitment to the institute. This project was funded in part by Humanities Tennessee with additional support provided by Wackenhut and Mrs. B.W. Grimes.
