The East Tennessee Historical Society offers its members and the public a variety of publications. The Journal of East Tennessee History and Tennessee Ancestors are regular publications of the Society that provide information on East Tennessee history, family histories, and genealogy.

The book First Families: A Register of Early Settlers and Their Present-day Descendants also provides a wealth of genealogical information. Taken together, ETHS publications provide a wide range of information and scholarship on the history and heritage of East Tennessee and the surrounding areas.
